Today has been a day to say the least. While my husband was knee deep with work, I was trying to dry clothes and work on a new post that is taking a little research. (That one will be coming soon!😁) I decided to go check on the clothes. When I put them in the dryer and set the timer, it was at an hour and about twenty minutes. About an hour into the drying process, I decided to go and check to see if the clothes were getting close. I do this, because sometimes the clothes dry just a bit sooner than the timer goes off. So, I go to check, and the clothes are still wet, and cold…🫣. Not only that, but the dryer still had twenty minutes to go.
The first thing I think of is maybe the vent tube may be clogged. So I started getting things pulled out of the laundry room and was getting ready to clean out the vent tube. I went down stairs for a minute to get a drink. Then I hear my husband say “What is all this?”. I went to the stair well and explained the whole story of how the dryer was not working and what I thought. He ask me several questions, then tells me that the problem is not the dryer vent. There must be a short or something must have went out on it. Sure enough… He takes the back panel off, and there was not a short, but he said that there was a part on it that was no longer good. He then tells me we need a new dryer. 😓😓😓
My instant thought was……OH NO! Those things are expensive!😩
Soon after that, it was time to go and pick the girls up from school. I get the girls and headed back home. I remembered that my husband had asked for a lavender candle. (I will make a post of the positive effects of the scent of lavender soon as well) The girls and I made a stop at the good old Walmart. Where we live, Walmart is the place where most get their groceries and little things they may need. Unless they decided to go a couple towns over to some of the other alternatives. While there we could not find a candle that was just lavender. There were some that had lavender and a few other scents mixed, but really didn’t have much of a lavender scent. I was on a mission to find something lavender. So I think i spent a good 20 to 30 minutes on that one isle, just trying to decide on anything that had a lavender scent. I finally found a diffuser and some lavender oil. I thought that would be perfect! Only the scent of lavender, and no other crazy smells. Then we were off the check out. As we were in the check out, my hubby calls. He tells me to go ahead and order dinner and he will see us in a little bit. It sounded like he was in a car. I told the girls, that we get to surprise daddy with his new diffuser, that it sounded like he was in a vehicle. We all were excited! We get home and I am trying to set up the diffuser, and I hear the front door. I started to rush. I didn’t want him to see it until it was set up.
Then my husband calls for me. So I stop trying to set up the diffuser, because I do not want him to suspect anything. I go down stairs. We talk for a second and he starts to walk outside, and i see a huge box on the front porch!! He had gotten a new dryer! I at this point am so excited and can’t wait to see it! He starts to tell me about the deal he got on it, and how I am really going to like it. Now I am beside myself! He never half way does literally ANYTHING. He then says “Oh. Hey, I need you to go to the truck and get the plug for this out of the back seat.” I am seriously excited, and go to the truck so we can get this thing in the house and put in and plug it up!
I get to the truck and it is locked. I look back and ask if they could unlock the door for me. The door unlocks, and I open the door to find a back seat full of plants!!!!!!!!!! Ok… Truth time… I do not, I repeat… I do not have a green thumb. But I super, super, super LOVE flowers and plants. He had bought me three planters to hang from the front porch and three plants to plant anywhere I like. I am not going to lie! When I opened that door, I wend from excited, to supremely elated! I think I have smiled for hours! I absolutely LOVE all of the flowers. I LOVE the new dryer too! My husband knows that I really like rose gold, any our new dryer has ROSE GOLD accent on it.
I go inside the house to try and rush and put the diffuser together while he and his dad are bringing in the dryer. I got it together and the light turned on, and it started to smell amazing. Then I did my best to help from a distance with getting the dryer upstairs, and getting things needed to install it. Once it was upstairs, I urged my husband to look in his office. He goes in , and I tell him all about it. This thing has many different settings, and I went through all that it does. Guess what! He really liked it. You would never guess either, but that one diffuser made the whole first and second floor smell like lavender. I think I really like his diffuser too! Daily I thank God for giving me my husband. We have our good moments and our bad moments like any married couple. I tell you what. I feel like I won the lottery with this one! There is not a day that goes by that he does not make an attempt to make me laugh or smile. He works super hard to provide for our family and does his very best to make sure we have what we need and want. There is not a time that I ask for or say that I want anything, that he ever tells me that I should wait or that it isn’t a good idea. He is such a gift to me and our kiddos! I wish more than anything that I could give him the world and so much more. He truly does deserve it all and more!
