Since becoming a christian. Prayer has become a huge part of my life. If you are not a person who believes, you may ask why. The Bible has many verses about prayer, which is a form of communication with God.
Here are a few examples:
- “Pray without ceasing” – 1 Thessalonians 5:17
- “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” – Matthew 6:6
- “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” – Mark 11:24
- “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” – Ephesians 6:18
- “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” – Philippians 4:6
These verses emphasize the importance of prayer in the life of a believer, encouraging them to pray regularly, in faith and with a thankful heart. Prayer is seen as a means of seeking God’s will, receiving guidance and wisdom, and finding strength and comfort in times of need.
I find myself praying about everything. I pray for the Holy Spirit to cover my day. To lead me and guide me to be the wife, mother, and person in general that God has called me to be. I pray for protection for my children while they are at school. To have their eyes protected from seeing anything they should not see, and keep their ears from hearing things they should not hear, and their tung from saying anything they should not say. I pray through out the day for different things, depending on what is happening that day. There are times I pray for guidance, I pray thanking God for the blessings he has given our family. I also throughout some days, pray for forgiveness. For sins that I may have realized that I have committed throughout the day(because, we are not perfect, we just have to try our best and ask for forgiveness when we realize that we have sinned), and for sins that we may not realize we have committed. Then at night I pray for all the things I have prayed for during the day, and I pray for things that may have come up and need an extra mention and prayer.
Is there something you need prayer about? Something that you have going on that you need an extra ear, or person to intercede for you? I would be happy to say a prayer for you. Reach out to me, or leave a comment, and I will say a prayer for you and your situation!
