Ok mommas…… How many of you have littles that like YouTube? If your kiddo is anything like mine, they like to watch videos of families doing all types of different things. Crafts, vacations, gymnastics, cheer……mercy… the list goes on and on. So recently our youngest comes to my husband and myself and she asks to have her own channel. After debating and talking about it, we decided to let her have a channel of her own. We have created a few videos so far and she is loving it. And that is putting it mildly. What you don’t see in all these cute videos of all these different families, is all the editing that has to be done to the videos. Needless to say there is a learning curve if you do not already know how to edit. 

So far we have tried PowerDirector365 and Canva. So far they both have several things we like about them, and some things that we ehhh. Well not too crazy about. 

PowerDirector365 is run by CyberLink. I am not so crazy about the log in process. You have to log in on the CyberLink page. My husband and I share the editing duties for all of the videos. That being said, when he wants to look at the video and see if there are any edits he wants to add, I have to completely log out and then he can log in and edit the video. There was also a pop up stating that only one computer can be logged in to the account. It would be super nice if more than one computer were allowed to log in, or maybe even make it to where the account editing can be shared. I do have to say that the audio, transitions, clip art, videos, and so much more are amazing about this program. You can down load this editor for free with the option of paying monthly or yearly for extra features. 

The image above is of some of the effects available. I tinkered with a few of them and they are pretty neat. The company adds new elements to the content every month. I think that is really a great idea. Things are constantly changing and there are always new features. 

Next there is the Canva editing program. There isn’t really too much that I can say that I do not like about this program so far. I am still learning as much as I and about it. From what I can tell, there are not as many options for those neat transition effects. As you can see below. 

That is, compared to the PowerDirector 365. There may be a bit of a learning curve, but I think I like it so far. Canva seems to be the go to for my editing right now. 

There are a ton of video editing options out there. These are just two that I have tried. Both have good options for editing, in my opinion. Right now, I really like the simplicity that  Canva has to offer.
